Projects in aluminium and steel
Alinco cuts, bends, welds, and processes projects in aluminum. Essentially, what Alinco can make in stainless steel, Alinco can also make in aluminum.
Aluminum is a material with many advantages (light, easily extrudable, fairly corrosion-resistant, recyclable, etc.), but it is simultaneously a material that is somewhat more challenging to process than steel or stainless steel.
Laser cutting is more complex, the material is less dimensionally stable during bending or plate rolling, the welding process is more complex… Hence, the necessary expertise is very important here.
Sheet Metal and Construction
The standard quality we work with is AlMg3. Additionally, we process pre-anodized aluminum.
Welding
Welding aluminum is known to be 'somewhat more difficult' for the following reasons:
- You need a suitable welding machine.
- Aluminum conducts heat faster than stainless steel or iron, requiring more heat during the welding process.
- There is a higher risk of cracking and poor welding than with stainless steel and iron, so expertise is crucial.
- Aluminum creates a heavier weld seam, making it aesthetically more challenging.
- The weld loses much of its strength when ground.
Alinco has sufficient knowledge to perform welding in aluminum well. For welding thicker materials, we have welding machines available up to 400A.
Alinco mainly works with AlMg3 = AW 5457.
