Both stainless steel, steel, and aluminum can be painted, although this is less common with stainless steel. Paint jobs are outsourced depending on the application (wet paint, powder coating, KTL treatment, etc.). Galvanizing (for steel) is also outsourced.

Disadvantages:

  1. Additional Cost: Often, stainless steel is a good cost-effective alternative to painted steel.
  2. Remains a Layer: Once broken, e.g., by a scratch, it loses its corrosion resistance locally.
