Alinco had the honor of collaborating on the work of art “Passe-Partout” by Hugo Kaïret. The work has been inaugurated and can be admired at the cultural center of Stekene.

Based on three questions, Hugo shares in his own words his inspiration for the artwork:

“What does it represent?”

The artwork describes an opening door with figures attached to it.

  • It illustrates the openness and accessibility of the new culture house,
  • It reflects the connectedness of the people and
  • It emphasizes the diversity of the audience, from small to large.

“Why is the artwork named PASSE-PARTOUT?”

  1. The passe-partout of a painting or a drawing is a border within the frame. Here each figure is a passe-partout of the smaller figure.
  2. A passe-partout is also a runner, a key that opens all doors. In this work, the door is always ajar.
  3. A passe-partout is also a subscription card for various performances. Perhaps soon to be available in the culture house.'

And third and most relevant to Alinco....

“What material does the artwork consist of?”

Passe-partout is made of steel plate 2.5 cm thick. It has a height of 2.65 meters above ground and weighs 1,200 kg. Below ground it is firmly anchored with fastening plates. It is welded, blasted, metallized and powder coated.

We are very proud to have had a part in this project and are pleased to show below some pictures of the process and the final result!
