Hot-rolled plates are obtained by hot rolling plates flat, as opposed to thinner plates typically cold-rolled. Hot rolling creates a flamed, predominantly blue-black glow, with occasional ocher-colored flames. These are often beautiful plates but remain industrial, with occasional defects or scratches from the dealer or factory. The plates combine well with other natural materials like wood, natural stone, or inox.

The fact that these are industrial plates means they need to be pre-selected in our workshop for aesthetic applications. Beautiful, unblemished plates may be suitable for aesthetic applications, while others can be used for industrial purposes. Sometimes, there might not be a single suitable plate in an entire batch, necessitating new orders. Therefore, it's crucial to specify that the plates will be used for an aesthetic application in a price request or order; pre-selection comes at a cost, and the price will be higher than regular steel plates.

Further processing of these plates is challenging; they are raw steel plates and thus very susceptible to corrosion.
