Edge rolling mills
There are various techniques to roll edges or shapes onto a workpiece. Forming an edge using an edge rolling machine is a relatively simple technique that is not too expensive.
The technique has some limitations:
- Edges can only be rolled outward, not inward; they are sometimes slightly beveled, and depending on the diameter, they can only be applied to sheet thicknesses of up to a maximum of 1.5 to 2 mm.
- The height of the edge is also limited. Depending on how the edge needs to be rolled, an edge of about 12 mm is possible (e.g., edge on a tube) or is limited to about 8 mm (e.g., edge on a flat plate).
Alinco has several edge rolling machines.
