Sublimotion®
Alinco offers the SublimotionProcess® in-house. Sublimotion by Phibo is a patented surface conditioning process specifically developed for the treatment and finishing of stainless steel surfaces. This process offers numerous advantages in terms of hygiene, corrosion resistance, and non-stick properties.
Technical Overview:
- Process: Sublimotion is a form of wet blasting where fine abrasives are blown onto the surface of the material under high pressure. This results in a very smooth and uniform surface without damaging the underlying structure.
- Application: The process effectively removes contaminants such as weld oxides, grease stains, and other impurities that arise during the production process and handling of stainless steel.

Advantages:
- Surface Topography Improvement: A good Ra value (Roughness value) is maintained during sublimation; in some cases, it even decreases.
- Sealing of Microcracks: Seals microcracks and perforations, thereby improving the integrity of the material.
- Optimal Corrosion Resistance: Increases resistance to corrosion, extending the material's lifespan.
- Contamination Prevention: Reduces the risk of contamination by creating a very clean and smooth surface.
- Hygienic and Easy to Clean: Ensures a hygienic surface that is easy to clean, ideal for use in demanding environments such as the food and pharmaceutical industries.
- Anti-Stick and Improved Sliding Properties: Especially useful for powder applications.
Disadvantages:
- Cost: More expensive than traditional post-treatments like pickling and glass bead blasting.
When placing an order, clearly specify whether you are opting for a:
- Non-aesthetic sublimotion: The price is reasonable, but finish defects are visible.
- Aesthetic sublimotion: It is more expensive, and when it comes to powder transport, where only roughness and anti-adhesion are important, it is not always necessary.
VALIDATED/CERTIFIED: The Sublimotion® finish is validated and certified by EHEDG, ACTALIA, BIL, OCAS, and the Universities of Leuven and Ghent.
