Bending is cheaper and more hygienic than welding. Therefore, in design, preference should be given as much as possible to bending instead of welding. Especially for trays, it’s often a question of which flanges can still be bent.

Everyone intuitively understands that a tray with four 100 mm high flanges can have all flanges bent. But what if that same tray requires four 300 mm high flanges? Many design mistakes are made here.
